Early style flintlock with arched Chamfered features serpentine cock in set faceted pan, unbridled friction frizzen and feather spring with spear finial. Early style stock with hand rail comb extends to within 3" of muzzle and is made of hard maple with good curly grain. Stock pins to barrel and is brass mounted. Buttplate tang has scroll engraving. Brown Bess style sideplate has tail to rear. Trigger guard has three lobe finial. Steel ramrod mounts through heavy front pipe. Beaded middle and matching brass thimble. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: seller's tag from 2009 gun show as well as copy of note and receipt for $4,200 from George Neumann and consignor's notes regarding the musket. Copy of book, "Battle Weapons of the American Revolution" by George C. Neumann. CONDITION: good. Iron parts with dark brown patina. Stock with what appears to be some added oil over original finish with numerous scratches and handling marks. Brass nicely toned. Lock and barrel and in original flint condition. Dark pitted bore. Mechanically good. Frizzen and feather spring appear to be replaced. (01-28472/RW). ANTIQUE. $2,500-4,000.
